The Story of Mech Amsterdam Every great brand has a story. Ours begins in Amsterdam. Mech Amsterdam started on Willemsparkweg, where we opened our first sandwich shop with one simple mission: create the freshest, highest-quality sandwiches, served quickly without ever compromising on taste or service.
The response exceeded all expectations. Our first location quickly became too small for the growing number of customers, so in 2008 we moved to Amsterdam's prestigious Zuidas, the international business district. There, Mech became a well-known destination for professionals looking for premium, freshly prepared sandwiches. Over the years, our commitment to quality, consistency and customer service earned us a 5-star customer rating, something we are incredibly proud of. Every sandwich is still prepared with the same passion and attention to detail that made Mech a success in Amsterdam.
The name Mech carries a special meaning. Today it proudly honors my grandmother, Maria Mecheline Bende, whose warmth, hospitality and love for bringing people together continue to inspire our company. Her values—quality, integrity, generosity and genuine care for others—are the foundation on which Mech Amsterdam is built. Today we are bringing that same Dutch craftsmanship, premium ingredients and passion for hospitality to the United States. What started as a small sandwich shop on Willemsparkweg has grown into a concept with international ambitions, while staying true to the values that made Mech successful from day one.
